Just be Kind

‘Did you see what she done?’

‘She’s doing my head in today! He keeps putting the bin under the sink… oh wait did you hear about the new rules. OMG the other day she said this he said that!’

All familiar phrases in a workplace I’m sure you will agree, but when it’s my place of work these phrases make me feel sick and affect me on so many emotional levels.

How people show up and how people speak to me speaks volumes. We’ve had a few issues in the past where people haven’t spoken openly and spoke about each other in negative ways. I covered this in my blog the essence of people a couple of weeks ago - The Essence of People.

Have you ever been part of a team that talks negatively about each other?

Have you ever been on the receiving end of a manager who talks about other team members to you?

It’s awful and makes the whole working environment a painful place to be, however, it’s also impossible to have a team of people who will agree with everything each other does.

We see so many posts on social media about kindness and for me that's what it's all about, being kind. When you are passionate about something it's so easy to get frustrated and annoyed. What does this bring? It makes people feel really rubbish, they go home hurt and overthink it. Then comes the bomb and before long everyone has fallen out and isn't happy.

So what does this mean in a spiritual sense? Doing the work we do psychic work/ mediumship you have to come from a place deep within your core of kindness, consideration and respect, for the other person's feelings and for the way you carry yourself into that conversation. If you aren’t doing these things it is my belief that the work you do will always be grainy and inaccurate as a result of being unkind.

When I am teaching new Mediums, the first year is always about them working on themselves and very little about giving messages which may be frustrating for some budding Mediums. However those who aren’t prepared to do this important work aren’t people that should be working as ambassadors for the spirit world. If they cannot come from a place of mutual respect they shouldn't be in the role and it's as simple as that. How on earth can someone work in a role that needs compassion and care when they are critical and negative about others? It's a sad fact that the spiritual community, like any other community, has many unkind people.

I wonder why the spirit world allows them to work? The answer is that they have free will and spirit cannot interfere with that, so it's up to us the spirit incarnate to challenge unkind behaviour and say no it's not okay to be like that. This has to be applied to every workplace, every group of friends, every community.

Personally I've had a number of weeks where I've been very critical of myself and how others perceive me, and I've come to the realisation that I was being unkind to myself also.

So my message to you guys today is - always be kind. Even when it's something frustrating to you, treat people how you want to be treated. And most importantly be kind to yourself,  the universe will open up and deliver you all of the answers to all of your problems.

Keep shining

Steven
