When the going gets tough - Christmas message

What a crazy 2 years it’s been huh? I am sure you will all agree that we have all been through crazy times. The one thing I have certainly learned during this pandemic is that with an absolute relentless vision on where we are going as a business we have managed to survive. I will not close our doors and no matter what the next few months throw at us. We will survive.

When the pandemic began I had just signed the lease for our new, bigger shop and I remember looking up and saying, ‘come on guys why have you done this?’ The answer I got back was to ‘keep a hold of your vision Steven, these times will pass.’ I’ve held this strong in my mind since the start.

Running a business certainly isn’t easy. There are many challenges and so many unseen costs. If you own a business you will certainly understand. Before we even do a thing our outgoings are massive.

My focus has always been to create a safe space of employment that feels like home for our team. But like so many businesses have experienced, in recent weeks/ months I have been so worried that I cannot provide hours for our team. We have had people cancelling due to covid, team members not able to come in due to having to isolate and so on… We have had to adapt and think like we have never thought. My focus is always customer facing and as we grew I found myself to be more drawn into managing the invisible part of the business, which took me away from working with people. With this in mind I had to get help and brought on Gina our Business Development Manager who manages all this side for me. This means I can fully concentrate on being on the shop floor customer facing and doing what I love.

Our industry can often be perceived as airy fairy woo woo and my goal has always been to back it up with science, professionalism, and above all of that wrapping it up with kindness. This last 2 years I have worked so hard on creating a professional brand and Gina wraps all of that up into what you see today.

I have created a culture that comes from me, streams down through the team and then into our customers, we also have Tamzin and Jacqui who manage front of house, ensuring that people are happy and get help if needed and a space to offload and talk about their experience.

So from the minute you book in to the moment you leave and beyond, you are taken care of.

People always remember how you make them feel and that’s a fact. So I want everyone to feel a bit of what we provide and whether you are interacting with us online via zoom in our training academy, online readings or in person, everything should feel the same. We work so hard on creating a safe space.

Just look at how we have grown in 2 years! We may not be making millions but we are making millions of people matter. Check out my blog last week on how kindness snowballs

Our vision is to empower people to be the best versions of themselves physically, emotionally and spiritually.

I’m excited, absolutely terrified and determined that we will execute all of our goals and grow over the next 2 years in many, many ways including taking on more team members, and expanding our reach across the globe to as many people as we possibly can helping them through kindness.

I am so proud of my team and happy to have each one of them with their own unique gifts as part of my family.

My ask of you, our amazing community, to go out there into the world, be kind, shop local (the wee businesses need you), interact with people, and always be kind even if someone isn’t being kind to you - diffuse it with compassion and understanding.

And finally, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and may your belly be filled with good  food, your heart filled with love and your mind at ease.

All my love

Steven x
